One of my absolute favorite events to photograph each year is the Gatehouse Loves Local event in Orem, Utah. Hosted at the stunning Gatehouse No. 1 storefront, this event brings together some of Utah’s most talented and creative local businesses—and it’s always packed with heart, energy, and community spirit.
A Night of Local Love at Gatehouse No. 1
Gatehouse No. 1 is a gorgeous interior design store run by Stephanie Holdaway and her daughters, and you can truly feel the love and intention behind everything they do. Stephanie and her team pour their heart and soul into not only curating the most beautiful home pieces, but also into lifting up other businesses through this annual celebration of local talent.

The event was co-hosted by Stephanie and Nicea DeGering of Good Things Utah, and they did a fantastic job spotlighting the variety of businesses involved. A Photographer’s Favorite Kind of Event
What makes Gatehouse Loves Local so special is the heart behind it. It’s not just a pretty event (though it is stunning). It’s a gathering built on community, connection, and support. Watching someone like Stephanie—who’s built a successful design empire—use her platform to spotlight other small businesses is incredibly inspiring.
