The Richards kids range in age from 4 to 12, and every single one of them brought something special to the session. From teasing each other to cracking jokes and making each other laugh, their sibling dynamic was full of life. I loved leaning into that energy and letting them be exactly who they are.
Big Sibling Energy and One Very Beloved Little Sister
If there was a star of the show, it was definitely Cece, the youngest. She has the biggest personality and is clearly adored by her older siblings. You could feel how loved she is, and that confidence shines so beautifully in photos.
The older kids were constantly making her laugh, playing along, and showing off that natural sibling bond. Those moments are always my favorite because they tell the real story of a family — not a perfectly posed version, but the genuine connection between kids who love each other.
Comfortable Outfits Make All the Difference
One thing I loved about this session was how the kids were dressed in clothes they felt comfortable in. They even had a say in their outfits, which I always encourage. When kids feel good in what they’re wearing, sessions flow more easily and the photos feel more authentic.

A Mom Who Let Her Kids Be Themselves
Holly, the kids’ mom, was such a joy to work with. We actually used to work together on BYU campus during college, so getting to photograph her and her beautiful family all these years later felt extra special.
She was so relaxed and rolled with every moment. She didn’t try to control the chaos or force smiles. She let her kids show up as themselves — and that’s exactly when the best photos happen.
When parents trust the process and allow space for personality, I always end up with images that feel real, joyful, and full of life.
