This family session was extra special because it was with my own extended family. We met at Loch Lomond Pond in Saratoga Springs, Utah, one of my favorite spots for photoshoots.
First Full Family Photos in Years
These were the first photos of my entire family in at least seven years. It felt so meaningful to document everyone together, especially as our family has grown with new spouses and grandbabies over the years. Capturing these images felt like freezing time in the best way.
Soft Blue, Yellow, and Cream Outfits
Our color palette was soft blues, yellows, and creams, which looked perfect against the rich green backdrop near the pond. Coordinating outfits for such a large group can feel overwhelming, but these tones worked beautifully together without feeling too “matchy.”
Seamless Group Shots with a Tripod
Taking the group photo with a tripod and remote control was surprisingly seamless, even with such a big family. Everyone was so cooperative, and because we’re comfortable with each other, the session felt easy and fun.
Dreamy Backlighting for Glowing Photos
One of the reasons I love Loch Lomond Pond is the gorgeous backlighting that comes through the trees in the evening. It creates a soft, golden glow that is flattering and dreamy, adding so much warmth and depth to every image. Extended Family Photos at Loch Lomond are a no brainer!
Capturing Our Family’s Love and Laughter
My family is super fun and funny, so this session was filled with laughter and playful teasing. I loved capturing the love we have for each other in these photos. It was such a great reminder of why I do what I do – preserving these fleeting moments for families to hold onto forever.
