In-Home Newborn Photos in Provo, Utah | A Cozy and Feminine Session

This in-home newborn session in Provo, Utah was calm, cozy, and filled with the softest light—and it was especially meaningful to me on a personal level. This shoot was for my brother, Dalin, and his wife, Sydney, as they welcomed their first baby girl, Livvy, into the world.

Photographing a family you hold so dear is always extra special. Being able to document this season for them—and then sneak in some great-aunt snuggles afterward—made this session one I’ll never forget.

A Nursery Full of Light and Whimsy

We photographed almost the entire session in the nursery, and there was no need to move much at all. The light was incredible, and the space was decorated so thoughtfully for their baby girl. Everything felt feminine, whimsical, and perfectly styled without feeling overdone.

Nurseries often have the best light in the house, and this one was no exception. Soft, natural light filled the room and created a light and airy feel that worked beautifully for newborn photos.

Why In-Home Newborn Photos Matter So Much

Photographing newborns in their own home tells a deeper story. This is the room they prepared with love. The space where quiet moments, late nights, and early morning snuggles happen.

In-home newborn photos don’t just show how tiny your baby was. They remind you of what life felt like in those early days.

A Calm, Connection-Focused Newborn Experience

This session felt relaxed from start to finish. There was no rush. No pressure. Just a calm environment where everyone could slow down and focus on connection.

That’s always my goal with in-home newborn photography. I want parents to feel present and comfortable. I want room for real interaction, gentle moments, and natural emotion. Those are the images that last.

Including the Whole Family (Fur Brothers Included)

One of my favorite parts of this session was including Livvy’s fur brothers, Baloo and Django. They were so sweet and curious, and adding them into the photos made the session feel even more complete. Pets are such a big part of the family, especially in those early newborn days, and I love when clients include them.

Feminine Details and Light, Airy Styling

The nursery decor added so much to this session. Soft colors, feminine details, and whimsical touches created a beautiful backdrop that complemented Livvy perfectly.

Light and airy newborn photos feel timeless. They keep the focus on tiny features, sweet expressions, and the connection between parents and their baby.
